The self-development space is highly questionable. What typifies its inauthenticity for me in this period is practitioners/ wellness people using ChatGPT to streamline their messaging and offerings, compromising their true voice.
Let your writing be faulty, grammatically incorrect, with run-on sentences, and repeated phrasing… let it be… human.
I believe when you hand your precious soul-work over to the entity that is AI, it WILL
make it “better.”
But it will have an overlay of that artificial. An energetic imprint of that soulless edit.
It’s felt. I see it in accounts (I unfollow) or newsletters (I unsubscribe from). It just sounds like gobbledy-gook. It’s a discernible correction from the fullness of human to the streamline of robotic.
Instead, write your own darn newsletter. Or don’t. Maybe you’re not ready to scale your business, and that’s ok too.
The convenience of AI will always be waiting in the sidelines. Always luring us to its version of perfect. And that might work in other fields.
But in the self-development space, we have to hold the line for our humanity, with its flaws, and our self-expression shouldn’t be tampered with or run through the sieve of ChatGPT. It is so off. This is a hill I’ll die on.
I do believe that ancient, advanced civilizations have been destroyed because they made the wrong choice in pursuit of evolving, perfection, comfort, ease of use, and turned their power over to AI.
It’s a thin line, because we can benefit from how it’s connected us in ways and supported us in others, but there will always come a point when we have to decide how far we will go for each of us. Find your line.
Be conscious and aware of how it creeps in, especially if you’re healing and working with others. It’s YOUR imprint that attracts the right client who is a match. Your vibration that they pick up on behind your choice of words.
Let it be pure.
Trust your ability to communicate and share from the heart. Your people will find you. The resonance of you, undiluted by the frequency of AI.
Where do you sit with it all?
Xoxo

Thunderous round of applause! Who knew that there would be yet another hurdle or tell within this already questionable space. I'm optimistically looking at this as a glass half full scenario immediately alerting us when to walk away. I too hit unfollow and unsubscribe the moment I sense ChatGPT enter the chat. Make room for me on this hill. I'll bring the snacks.
Brava, Ryan! I'm 100% with you on this. I'm ever more mindful of what I take in, and how the "source" can infiltrate in harm, rather than goodness.
And then there's THIS: "It’s YOUR imprint that attracts the right client who is a match." <<< Definitely, THIS, and YES to what you say.
Thank you for speaking into the ick that's becoming all too pervasive and certainly should be treated as shallow, perhaps even false. Libby's got the snacks. So I'll bake a cake! Chocolate? Or... what's your choice?
